Sveti Stefan stitch along. Part 1
I created this project to celebrate 200k in my Instagram account @faimyxstitch. And it went great so I want these videos to be available for everyone who wants to learn embroidery.
I prepared the design of a beautiful place in Montenegro - Sveti Stefan island. This stitch along is going to be about the textures and you’re not going to need a lot of supplies.
Supplies for the project:
- Embroidery Hoop - 5, 6 or 7 inch. I’ve made image for transfer for all these sizes
- Fabric - Kona cotton, quilting cotton, cotton for patchwork. Or any not stretchy, not very dense fabric
- DMC cotton 6-strands thread. Colors: 310, 598, 3864, 3772, 3032, 991). If you’re not a beginner you can experiment with threads and colors. Experiments are always welcome!
- Needles - two needles or one needle and pin. I use tapestry needle size 28
- Pencil or pilot point heat erasable pen or water-soluble pen (watch the video about checking if you can use the pencil on your fabric)
- Scissors to cut fabric and thread. Any from your home is fine
- Glue gun - it's not necessary, I’ll show two ways to finish the hoop. The second only requires thread
Closer look on the supplies in my video
I'll show you the design and supplies in this video. Do you need the tightening screw on the hoop? How the right fabric looks? How to understand if you can use pencil for transfer? And other details that important to know before the start
How to get the images for transfer
It's super easy. Subscribe to my mailing list and receive the file in the first letter.
I don't write too often, 1-2 letters in a month to keep you updated about new articles patterns, courses, kits and latest news in my embroidery life
Transfer the design
In this video I'm showing how to use embroidery hoop, create fabric tension and how to transfer design on fabric
Embroidery basics
How to thread a needle? What is the strange thing I use for embroidery? How to make a knot? How to end stitches and change thread? How to make backstitch?
In this video I talk about my hoop stand, how to start and finish stitches, thread needle, make knots and you will embroider backstitch
I divided project into three articles so you won't forget to take breaks in between embroidery. In the second part you'll embroider houses, roof and trees
